Ecommerce product data entry and listing uploads

Ecommerce product data entry for Shopify, Amazon Seller Central and Walmart: new listings, variants, attributes and bulk uploads. $5 per person-hour.

$5 per person-hour for standard tasks.

Ecommerce product data entry turns supplier line sheets, spec sheets and photos into complete, live listings. Deepen AI's team builds new products in your store or marketplace account, prepares bulk upload files, and fixes the errors that come back.

What the work is, and who buys it

Buyers are brands launching new collections, retailers taking on a new supplier's range, and marketplace sellers expanding to another channel. The work is detailed and repetitive. One shirt in two colors and four sizes is eight variants, each with its own SKU, barcode and price. Mistakes show up later as suppressed listings, wrong sizes shipped, or products nobody finds in search.

This page is about creating new listings. For keeping an existing catalog accurate week after week, see catalog data management. For running a whole online store's back office, see ecommerce data entry outsourcing.

What our team does

Shopify

  • Create products and variants with options, SKUs, barcodes, prices and weights
  • Set product type, vendor, tags and collections to your rules
  • Fill metafields such as material, care and fit
  • Prepare and check CSV files for bulk import, and add image alt text

Amazon Seller Central

  • Fill category listing templates from your source data
  • Write titles, bullet points and descriptions to your style guide and keyword list
  • Set up parent and child variations
  • Fix errors from the processing report and resubmit

Walmart Marketplace

  • Fill bulk item setup files with the attributes each category requires
  • Map your product data to the marketplace's categories and attribute names
  • Fix item errors shown in the feed status and resubmit

The same team can work in your PIM, another store admin or a spreadsheet, on accounts you create. For filling and fixing attributes on listings that already exist, see product data enrichment.

How it runs

  1. You share source data and rules. Send line sheets, spec sheets, images, your title and style rules, and a few listings you consider finished.
  2. We agree scope and train. Our ops team sets the people and hours in your pilot plan. The team trains on your finished listings, and we build a gold set of products with known-correct variants, attributes and titles for you to confirm.
  3. We deliver, with a named team lead and QA sampling. The team builds live listings. The team lead keeps a decision list for naming, size and color mapping, and category choices, and sends open questions to your contact.
  4. You get a weekly report. Listings created by channel, upload errors fixed, QA sample results, and source data that is missing.

Illustrative example: a line sheet row to a Shopify product

Illustrative only. The product and supplier data are invented.

  • Input, supplier line sheet: style 4471 · Linen Camp Shirt · colors Sand, Olive · sizes S to XL · price 58 · fabric linen · care machine wash cold · no barcodes supplied
  • Your rules: one product per style · options Color, then Size · SKU = style, color code, size
  • Output, product: Linen Camp Shirt · product type Shirts · tags men, linen, summer
  • Output, variants: 8 (2 colors × 4 sizes) · SKUs 4471-SND-S to 4471-OLV-XL · price 58.00 each
  • Output, metafields: material Linen · care Machine wash cold
  • Output, barcodes: left blank on all 8 variants and flagged. The line sheet has none, so the supplier needs to send them.
  • Who did what: one team member built the product. A QA reviewer re-checked the variant SKUs and prices against the line sheet as part of the weekly sample.

How we keep listings accurate

Every value comes from your source data or your rules. If the source does not say, the field stays blank and is flagged, never invented. Gold listings measure each person against known-correct products before and during live work. QA reviewers re-check a sample of finished listings against the line sheet and your style rules. They do not re-check every listing. The weekly report shows the acceptance rate on the sample and the error types found, such as a wrong variant mapping, a title rule break or a missing attribute. See how we check quality.

Pricing scope

Ecommerce product data entry is a standard task at $5 per person-hour, with a named team lead and QA sampling included. Work starts with a two-week prepaid pilot: people × hours per week × 2 weeks × $5, with at least 20 hours per person per week. After the pilot, we invoice weekly in arrears. Products that need specialist knowledge to describe, such as electrical specifications, and listings in other languages are quoted after our ops team reviews the task. See the pricing page.

When to use the enterprise team instead

If you need product photos labeled to train a visual search or product recognition model, rather than listings built, that is computer vision annotation. The Deepen AI enterprise team scopes and prices it per project. See enterprise AI data services.

Send a line sheet and two or three finished listings. We email you a pilot plan with a quote.

FAQ

What product listing services are included at the standard rate?

Creating products and variants, filling attributes, writing titles, bullets and descriptions from your source data and style guide, preparing bulk upload files, and fixing the errors the channel reports back. All of it is $5 per person-hour in English, with a team lead and QA sampling included.

Do you do Amazon listing optimization?

We write and edit titles, bullet points, descriptions and attributes to your keyword list, your style guide and the marketplace's listing rules. We do not promise search rankings, and we do not do paid advertising. If you do not have a keyword list, say so in the pilot form and our ops team will tell you what we can take on.

Can you upload products to Shopify, Amazon and Walmart?

Yes. We work on staff or user accounts you create in Shopify, Amazon Seller Central and Walmart Seller Center, with only the permissions the task needs. We also work in PIMs, other store admins and spreadsheets.

Do you write product descriptions?

Yes, from your source data and to your style guide. If an AI tool writes your first drafts, we can check and correct them against the source data before they go live. See AI output review outsourcing.

What do you need from us to start?

Line sheets or spec sheets, product images, your title and style rules, a few listings you consider finished, and accounts in the tools. If your rules are not written down yet, your finished listings are enough for us to draft them for your approval.
